Most humans believe that global warming is a recent concern after much of the research has been conducted within the last twenty years. While the most traumatizing of events have occurred over the past several years, there has actually been a large amount of research conducted over the past 300 years that warns governments and citizens of the dangers posed by global warming, making it incredibly diverse and very rich in data for quite some time now actually.

In fact, there were several governments that adopted various different approaches and stances on global warming a few hundred years ago that are now re-thinking their official written approaches to this increasing challenge. One of these governments is actually England.

Within the England, the Royal Society is actually taking a closer look and year writing their official stance and view-point on global warming that was originally written over 350 years ago. This actually does come after a recent ridiculing of the society not wishing to accept the most common and closely held beliefs of many that this is actually a very large issue, making it a very hot topic lately. There have obviously been a tremendous amount of research and various other amounts of data collected since this point that has prompted the escalation of efforts by the Royal Society to adopt a much closer look at what is truly going on within the aspects of global warming.

The Royal Society has appointed a panel to rewrite the 350-year-old institution’s official position on global warming. It will publish a new “guide to the science of climate change” this summer. The society has been accused by 43 of its Fellows of refusing to accept dissenting views on climate change and exaggerating the degree of certainty that man-made emissions are the main cause.

The society appears to have conceded that it needs to correct previous statements. It said: “Any public perception that science is somehow fully settled is wholly incorrect — there is always room for new observations, theories, and measurements.” This contradicts a comment by the society’s previous president, Lord May, who was once quoted as saying: “The debate on climate change is over.”

After much debate and signatures petitioning the group to actually adopt a written stance that reflects current data and various other view-points, it truly will be interesting to see what they come up with.
